Equatorial Guinea Soccer Makes History: 2010 Youth Olympics

How often do we hear about Equatorial Guinea's soccer program?

The Spanish speaking, African nation has made quite a name for itself at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Its women's team recently defeated Iran, and headed to the finals to face off with Chile.

A double boost for the nation. The success of the women's team has peaked the interest of the nation's Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and National President of the Youth Federation of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Nguema Obiang Mangue. He has been attending and supporting the women's soccer matches at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games in an effort to promote and support culture and sports in his country.

Keep a close eye on team captain, Judit Ndong and her squad. Despite their defeat on yesterday to Chile 4-1, I don't think this is the last that we have heard of them.
